Vice President of Engineering – Tony Smith

Tony joined IrvinGQ in 2021 with 20 years’ experience in the aerospace defence industry. Tony has a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a PhD in aerodynamics, together with being a chartered engineer and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Tony’s previous roles have included being a flight test engineer and a Chief Engineer at QinetiQ, as well as being the Head of Innovation at the Defence Solutions Centre. Tony’s drive is to bring the creativity of engineering innovation to bear on customer’s problems to deliver mission critical capability.

 

Outside work, Tony loves to travel, as well as hiking and biking – if he can combine all these at once then he’s hit the jackpot!
