Mark Lavender IrvinGQ

 

Mark joined IrvinGQ in March 2015 and prior to this appointment he served in the UK MoD in a number of posts in the Aerial Delivery arena including; Operator, Trainer, Operations Officer and Trade Examiner.  His 24 years’ service culminated with 3 years as the Lead Trials Officer within the Joint Aerial Delivery Trials Evaluation Unit (JADTEU), part of the Air Warfare Centre (AWC).  While at JADTEU he led and managed a number of high profile, high-risk projects including the first airdrops from the A400M aircraft in support of the Airbus Certification Programme. In addition, he sat as a Subject Matter Expert on the Cabin Safety Cargo Hold Panel for the A400M, which involved evaluating the design proposals presented by Airbus.  For this, Mark was recognised in the Queens New Year’s Honours list of 2015 and awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.

 

Within the company as Business Development Manager; Mark is responsible for the specific engineering needs of our customers and for the roll-out of our new products. Mark has a BSc (Hons) degree from the Open University, is a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and has been accredited as an Incorporated Engineer (I-Eng).

 

Outside of work, Mark is married with 3 children and enjoys travelling, cooking and cycling; rarely at the same time.
