SPARK Small Pack Aerial Response Kit

The Small Pack Aerial Response Kit (SPARK) system provides Search and Rescue (SAR) personnel the ability to aerially deliver a first response packet to survivors awaiting rescue.

Hand-launched from small aircraft, the system provides the basic necessities such as water, radio, first aid, etc. for survivors. Individual SPARK systems are intended for delivery of supplies to last 48 hours for three people, or 24 hours for six people.

The SPARK system can be launched from a variety of aircraft. The survival kit is enclosed in a bright package attached to a highly visible streamer which unfurls during descent.

To further aid survivors in quickly locating and retrieving the kit, the system incorporates both a visual (strobe light) and audio (alarm) locating beacons. These are automatically activated during deployment.

SPARK was developed for land and water applications with built-in flotation on both the streamer and the survival kit. To allow for safe clearance from the aircraft, the system is specially packed to allow for a short delay before deployment of the streamer.
