CNC Setter / Operator
Role Summary:
Reporting to your Section Leader the role of the CNC Setter / Operator is responsible for setting up and operating
CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills
and attention to detail to provide support to the Metals Division.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Set and operate CNC Turning / Milling machines and conventional mills and lathes to produce parts
according to engineering drawing and specifications
• Check all components before they go to inspection for 1st off and /or final batch inspection
• Ensure that all appropriate paperwork is completed accurately to maintain full traceability
• Set and run times on routing cards are to be maintained or improved
• Conduct all tasks in line with the current Health and Safety Legislation
• Ensure all broken or worn tools are reported to the tool stores and all fixtures, vices etc are returned to
storage after use
• Report any problems, machine breakdowns etc. to the Section Leader
• All safety equipment provided is to be worn at all times
• Keep all areas clean/tidy and organised at all times
• All swarf and rubbish bins to be emptied daily
Essential Skills and Experience:
• A sound manufacturing background with experience gained in machine shop practices
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Adaptable with the ability to work as part of a team
• Able to follow strict Health and Safety procedures
• Strong work ethic and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
Other Considerations:
• Shift work: 2-week cycle of days and nights
