Compliance Technician (Apprentice) [Ref. AS0000-031]
Reporting to the SQA Engineer the role of the Compliance Technician is to take responsibility for the key aspects of the day-to-day operation of the materials compliance process and to ensure the range and quality of routine inspection and testing is maintained, in order to provide an acceptable level of service to the business.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Reporting to the SQA Engineer the role of the Compliance Technician is to take responsibility for the key aspects of the day-to-day operation of the materials compliance process and to ensure the range and quality of routine inspection and testing is maintained, in order to provide an acceptable level of service to the business.

The Compliance Technician will be required to maintain the service provided by the section in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures and adhering to the relevant industry standards.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To ensure that supplied products and documentation comply with relevant purchase orders, drawings and specifications
• Implement and control research and development testing
• Proof loading and destructive testing
• Control of aged materials to re-life policy
• Complete investigation of production non-conforming products
• Support production on a day to day basis
• Implement and support internal audits
• Implement and support procedure change control
• Implement and control supplier rejects with timely corrective action closure
• Support of successful third party audits
• Support supply change management initiatives as required
• Reporting Test House statistics
• Quarantine of defective material and initiate containment actions

 

INTRINSIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers
  • Ability to use initiative in problem solving product issues with suppliers and documenting these
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrate an understanding in the use of quality tools (SPC/8D/5Why)
  • Able to work as part of a team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • HNC in an Engineering related discipline or proven demonstrable experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS

  • Ability to liaise with key stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Previous experience of working to quality control standards
  • Experience of using relevant testing equipment

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Project Engineers develop and apply today’s technology, managing and maintaining the application of current and developing engineering practices. With their detailed knowledge and understanding of current engineering technologies, they possess the skills and know-how to make things happen and play a key role in the successful delivery of projects. They have a detailed understanding of their recognised field of expertise and exercise independent judgment and management in the delivery of the allocated tasks across the full project lifecycle.

The focus of this role is to design and develop new personnel parachute products and to support the existing range of personnel parachute products and their users.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To deliver tasks allocated by Engineering Managers and Senior Engineers to the required time, cost, quality and scope:
Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Innovative design of novel solutions
  • Verification, validation (including conduct of trials)
  • Preparation of design documentation
  • Changes to drawings, material and constructional specifications
  • Providing support for the completion of BIDS
  • To actively and positively contribute to the design and development of new products / services
  • To support other departments in the successful delivery of existing products / services.
  • To manage own workload and the expectations of line manager, peers, internal and external stakeholders
  • To comply with company policies and procedures
  • To operate with integrity and be professional at all times, recognising their obligations to meet regulatory requirements (particularly safety within design)
  • To proactively support continuous change programmes, identify and recommend process / operational improvements

 

INTRINSIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; or Work-based technical knowledge and understanding, assessed as equivalent to the Formal Qualification.
  • Qualified parachutist – instructor / tandem master

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The PMO Administrator provides financial, project and administrative support to the Project Management Function and Cross-functional Project Teams

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative support to the Technical Delivery Manager and team with ad hoc activities
  • Generation of progress and financial reports as directed. Track and monitor cost booking (labour and materials) against project tasks
  • Take minutes at various meetings (Customer & Internal) produce and publish meeting minutes including actions in a timely manner
  • Maintain action logs and generate minutes from internal and external meetings
  • Ensure all documentation is appropriately stored and maintained on the company configuration management system
  • Support the creation and improvement of processes, procedures, and tools
  • Ensure that formal processes are adhered to and continually improved where possible
  • Coordinating the MRP System on behalf of the Engineering team including job allocation and maintenance
  • Generation of product release documentation
  • Generation of cost plans to support customer quotations
  • Generation of Engineering monthly performance reports
  • Facilitation of control boards to agree design changes

 

INTRINSIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Expert knowledge of PMO disciplines and able to clearly demonstrate proven knowledge and skills of PMO services and functions

  • Demonstrable experience working as a PMO Analyst/Administrator/Coordinator
  • Understanding of dealing with UK MoD
  • Able to regularly and reliably make deadlines and achieve delivery targets
  • Understanding of MoD (MAA) and similar contractual requirements and procedures
  • Understanding of Defence and Aerospace Quality Standards (Inc. ISO 9001 and AS9100 QA procedures and requirements)

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

As a Technician within the Facilities function, you will embrace working as a team and possess a strong will to succeed. You will undertake responsibility for the day to day maintenance of production machinery within the Textiles area to ensure maximum uptime. The role also includes the upkeep of the site and buildings by reacting to general Maintenance request together with complying with Legislation and any other ad-hoc requests defined by the Facilities Manager.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting daily Production within the Textiles area
  • Attending machine Breakdowns to ensure minimum downtime
  • Liaising with Department heads, Production Operatives & Contractors to ensure minimum disruption
  • General site maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure work is carried out in compliance with HSE Legislation
  • Carry out routine/planned maintenance – TPM
  • Cover front of site Security gate when required
  • Facility tasks as requested by Facilities Manager
  • A key holder and availability for call out in the event of an emergency outside of working hours
  • Covering production and the Facilities within 2 different site locations

 

Intrinsic Skills Required

  • NEBOSH General certificate

  • Lead evaluation, sourcing, negotiation and procurement of goods, services and outsourcing activities to achieve the best purchasing conditions and quality product in accordance with Company requirements.
  • Supplier relationship management (during development through to production); including supplier performance and change management.
  • Liaise extensively with key stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined prior to sourcing.
  • Management of purchase orders within ERP system, ensuring expediting activities are undertaken to support business need, whilst inventory is efficiently managed.
